DEPLETION OR COMPLETION

Are you exhausted, overwhelmed, over-scheduled, anxious, isolated or dissatisfied? If we aren’t aware, over-complicated can become our norm.

DEPLETION OR COMPLETION NOTES

Completion That Leads to Depletion

 Exhausted, overwhelmed, over-scheduled, anxious, isolated, and dissatisfied. If we aren’t careful, over-complicated can become normal.  Then we will no longer be able to discriminate between the important and non-essential.

 I had to admit “I hate who I have become.” Then I made a vow:  Never again will I allow myself to become this depleted.  The cost is too high.  NEVER AGAIN.

When we get depleted, we can confuse motion for progress.  We get scattered.

 Sometimes people feel an undercurrent of guilt for taking time to do the things that fill their own buckets…especially people who work in compassion related fields.

Replenishment That Leads to Completion

5 keys to Replenishment:

1. Connect  2. Connect. 3. Connect.  4. Connect 5.  Connect

  • Connect with God and Self  (Spiritual disciplines, meditation, recreation (re-create), exercise;

  • Connect with intimacy;

  • Connect with deep friendship;

    - The number of people we know does not equal the number of true friends that we have.

  • Connect with meaningful work;

  • Connect with giving to others with others to make a difference.

    Completion Just Arrived

  • I am as complete as I am ever going to be.

  • How do I take this completion to the next season of my life?

  • How can my connected relationships receive the same benefit I do?

The Pulls on Completion.

Like a sweater that unravels by pulling on a thread.

  1.   The Past -

    Many people live their entire lives tormented by a particular fear rooted in a single traumatic event in their childhood.

    Many wealthy guys that I know and work with have a great fear of not having anything again like they did in their childhood.

    There is a fear of losing it all.

    Don’t squander the opportunity for growth that can come from the hard seasons!

  2. The Future -

Am I really going to spend the next 40-50 years of my life just to buy a nicer car, live in a bigger house or have a boat that carries more people?

  • It’s not just about doing less, it’s about who we are called to be.

  • Driven by…or called to

“Today is a day of completion. Give thanks for this perfect day, miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease.” Florence Scovel Shinn
